Environmental Water Management in the Indo-Pacific: An Australian Perspective


A new AWP knowledge product is now available that focuses on environmental water management in the Indo-Pacific region – authored by Professor Stuart Bunn, Associate Professor Mark Kennard, and Professor Sue Jackson from the Australian Rivers Institute at Griffith University.

This report includes:

  • a review of current status and threats to freshwater ecosystems, and the essential ecosystem services they sustain, across each region; 
  • an assessment of the demand and awareness across a range of environmental water quality and quantity issues and challenges, in terms of data and information gaps, capacity and training; and 
  • a summary of key environmental water quality and quantity issues or challenges, mapped against each region/country
