Water supply temporary cut for two days in Yangon

​13 Sep 18 - Myanmar Times Water supply will be temporarily cut for two days starting today in 19 townships of Yangon due to heavy maintenance work that would entail replacing a 60-inch Hlawgar water supply concrete pipe near Kyauk Taw Gyi Pagoda in Mayangone township, the Engineering Department (Water and Sanitation) from Yangon City Development Committee, said.

Pipeline repair works will be carried out from 10:00 am on September 13 till 10:00 pm on September 14 and thus the public in 19 townships are requested to store water in advance for possible reduced water flow and water shortage, according to the official statement.

Affected by the water cuts are Shwepyitha, Insein, Mingalardon, Mayangone, Hlaingtharyar, Hlaing, Kamaryut, Yankin, Bahan, Tamwe, Thaketa, Dawpon, Mingalar Taung Nyunt, Pazundaung, Botahtaung, Kyauktada, Pabedan, Latha and Lanmadaw townships.

During temporary water cut, water trucks are available for each district if water is needed.
