Wrap up of Myanmar Community of Practice

28 May 18 - The Water Agency has launched the first Myanmar Community of Practice (CoP), collaborated with YCDC engineering department of water and sanitation on 24 May 2018. Over 50 participants from various organization, including YCDC, MWP, NEPS, MMU, WWF, Wateraid and Myanmar Koei joined this workshop. The CoP was emphasized on the exploration what the consolidation and growth in Yangon means in terms of water management and along with ecosystem services, what water assets are needed the coming decades.  

At the event, Piet Filet introduced water wise cities methodology, derived from International Water Association (IWA). The participants, divided into 4 groups, worked creatively on the natural assets and ecosystem of Yangon region and township level. The groups also discussed the management action needed till 2040.

This process will continue and upcoming workshop will be announced on Myanmar Water Portal. Here is the document and presentation from the workshop.
