An unexpected rainstorm yesterday in Yangon flooded some streets, snarled traffic and caught some pedestrians without umbrellas.
According to reports issued at 2;30pm yesterday by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, a low pressure area over the southwest and southeast Bay of Bengal persisted throughout the day. The weather was generally fair over the north and west central Bay of Bengal, and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
There is an 80 per cent chance of continued scattered showers today in Nay Pyi Taw, Bago Region, eastern and southern Shan State, Kayah State, Yangon, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi regions, and Kachin, Kayin and Mon states, according to the weather bureau.—GNLM
