WINNER Conference 2022


WINNER stands for Week of Indonesia-Netherlands Education and Research. This initiative is run by the Dutch Embassy in Jakarta, Nuffic NESO, the Indonesian Academy of Young Scientists (ALMI), the Indonesian National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), and the Dutch Research Council (NWO). Each year, these institutions join forces to organize an event called WINNER Conference as a showcase for education and research initiatives done by both countries. This year, the conference is organized on 18-20 October 2022 virtually. The overarching theme for the WINNER 2022 is "Learning and Research Collaboration for Sustainable Green, Blue and Digital Economies and Societies"

WINNER will accommodate space for sessions focusing on the approaches used in education and research, such as interdisciplinary collaboration, public-private partnerships, and living labs.

It includes a presentation section for Asia Water Challenge, an innovation competition that inspires young talents to contribute to critical real-life water challenges in their country. It was started and part of the broader Holland Water Challenge program, that has been running in several countries since 2010. The competition and its related activities serve as a "platform" to educate and provide learning mechanism for young generations to the real professional working world. It also supports the business development objectives of the businesses in water sectors in international market setup and connecting businesses with the great young talents in water sector and relevant field. Since it is started, there are more than 40 companies and institutions from the Dutch water sector, 30 top universities, and 300 students have participated.
