A second batch of Machinery for handling containers at Myanmar International Thilawa Terminal (MITT) arrived at the port in southern Yangon yesterday.
The five container cranes are manufactured by ZPMC company in China.
MITT has been boosting its capacity to handle increasing number of containers and to provide better service to the nearby Thilawa Special Economic Zone since April after seeking permission from the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Myanmar Port Authority and Myanmar Investment Commission.
On completion of the project in early next year, the MITT would possess the highest capacity for handling containers among the ports in Yangon.
