Myanmar Port Authority has organized the 2nd Yangon-Coco Island shipping services

20 Oct 2020 - Source: Myanmar International TV - Myanmar Port Authority has organized the 2nd second Yangon-Coco Island shipping services, leaving from No.3 Sule Jetty in Yangon on 18th of October. This MV. Charities vessel carried 220 tons of cargos and 70 passengers including government and company staffs and seamen. 

Assistant General Manger, Myanmar Port Authority, Ye Thu Aung said "After the State Counsellor'sCocogyun island trip, Myanmar Port Authority under the Ministry of Transport and Communications arranged the trip for the convenience of residents and government staff working there. All passengers and seamen have been already conducted14-day quarantine in Mingalardon quarantine center. 

They also need to quarantine again in Cocogyun with the arrangement of Cocogyun authority under the guidelines of the MOHS."Yangon Region Transport Authority and Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation also provided transportation of medical equipment and electrical appliancesto Cocogyun township. 

Joint Secretary, Yangon Region Transport Authority, HlaAung said "YRTA has provided PPE, goggles, masks and 12 kinds of medical supplies forCocogyun township hospital."Chairman, Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation, MaungMaungLat said "We has provided electrical appliances to distribute 24-hour electricity through solar power including bulbs for lamp posts and 300 Advanced Metering Infrastructure-AMI meters to replace the oldones in Cocogyun island." Myanmar Port Authority has planned to run the vessel twice a month to be more convenient for the residents in CocogyunTownship.
