Union Minister U Thant Sin Maung inspects Nyaungdon embankment project

Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Thant Sin Maung inspected Nyaungdon embankment project on 4 July.
The Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems acting Director-General U Win Hlaing, and relevant officials accompanied the Union Minister to Nyaungdon.
At a hall of the primary school in Thoon Phayar Gyi Pine Ward, Nyaungdon, officials of the Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems detailed about Nyaungdon stone pitching embankment project, which has been carried out by Ah Yone Oo construction company and completed 93 per cent, and the Htupayone Pagoda embankment, which will be completed 100 per cent on 30 July, in Lay Myet Hna Township in the Ayeyarwady Region.
After that, the Ayeyarwady Region Electricity, Energy, Industry and Transportation Minister U Win Htay, the Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems acting Director-General U Win Hlaing and other relevant officials explained about the Pathein Strand Road extension project which is funded by the regional government.
After hearing the reports, the Union Minister said that the damage of the Nyaungdon embankment occurred on 7 January, 2020, and urged relevant officials to exert efforts for timely completion of the embankment project.—MNA(Translated by Maung Maung Swe)
