In a bid to have adequate drinking water supply in the villages during summer, 300,570 gallons of water have been distributed for 3,712 households, consisted of 11,120 people, in 34 villages of 11 townships under four districts of Magway Region, according to the regional Rural Development Department.
With the contributions of the well-wishers, the Rural Development Department, Myanmar Fire Services Department, Forest Department and private motor vehicle businesses, over 300,000 gallons of water were distributed to the villages facing a shortage of water.
"Thanks to the respective departments and donors. The department has been ensuring the adequate water supply to the villages upon information", said U Myo Aung, head of Magway Region's Rural Development Department.
The water purifying machines are installed at the department to fulfil the requirements of drinking water to the locals, he added.
The villagers are urged to carry the water containers by staying six feet away from each other. The village administrators can contact the nearest Rural Development Department offices to get drinking water. —Zayatu (Magway) (Translated by Ei Myat Mon)
