06 Aug 19 - Source: Global New Light Of Myanmar - On account of heavy rain and high tide, the Kazan and Thitseint primary schools in Htantabin Township of northern Yangon District have been temporarily shut down, according to the Township Education Office.

The classrooms in the school compounds have been submerged due to the recent heavy rain and high tide. Therefore, officials have arranged to temporarily close the two primary schools for two days to ensure the safety of students and teachers. Although the Kazan primary school had been closed from 1 August to 3 August, it had not reopened till 5 August. A total of 55 students, including 29 boys and 26 girls, are attending the schools, which are planning to provide additional classes on weekends.—Zin Min Htike (Htantabin) (Translated by La Wonn)
