What is World Water Day?

International World Water Day is held annually on 22 March as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. This is part of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: sanitation and water. This year, the theme for World Water Day, "Leaving no one behind", focuses on how marginalized groups may be overlooked when it comes to accessing water and sanitation. Addressing and breaking down these barriers is essential to truly achieving "water for all". For more information and resources, visit the World Water Day website.
